CR 2011 - Day 7 Palamar Norte & Tinonco

We ministered at two of our favorite places today!
Palamar Norte & Tinoco

There is just something different about the way we connected to the people here. If we could have spent the entire 10 days in one location it would have been here!! We love the ministry that the two churches are doing and gave everything that we could to support them! In Palamar Norte we ran a children's program in the park and in Tinoco we had a program in the afternoon for the children, then stayed around to play some Football (soccer) until we were all ready to crash!

This is our last official day of ministry. I can't believe how fast it's gone!

CR 2011 - Day 5 & 6

We just had the experience of our lives

Friday we traveled 5 hours south to minister with the people of Cabagra. The trip there was just the beginning. We drove up dirt roads as far as we could in our Van, until we were met by a truck and horses to take us the rest of the way. The view itself was enough to make you want to build a house and stay forever. The people were welcoming and loving. They cooked us a great meal, and hung our hammocks for us as we prepared for service. Pastor Nik shared an incredible message that bridged the huge cultural divide. And again we were able to recognize that no matter how much difference there is between us, the one thing you can count on bridging the gap is the gospel message.

After service we settled in for the night early hoping to get a good night's sleep. Apparently we should have all taken a “how to” on sleeping in hammocks! The night was a LONG night, I think the only a few of us even got a couple of hours of sleep. And we were up with the roosters at 3:00 a.m., then 4:00 a.m. and finally rolled out of our hammocks at their 5:00 am. call.

Saturday we had the honor of ministering to their children. They literally came out of the mountains and all arrived for our Saturday morning service. We played games, sang songs, gave testimonies, illustrations and bible stories. The morning concluded with a great response by children choosing to live for God and a time of prayer with them and their parents!! What an incredible opportunity. This is a memory that will not ever be able to be replaced.

CR 2011 - Day 4 (cont.)

Here's more about our time at Linda Vista.

Today was an emotional day for everyone. The children at this school live in such poverty and come from unstable homes but at the LACC school they have the opportunity to learn about God and prepare to be future leaders and world changers! They stole our hearts!!!

CR 2011 - Day 3

Another great day in Costa Rica!!
We worked with an LACC School today in Los Cuadros.

The children at this school SO ENERGETIC! So we played hard. And had a lot of fun together as we taught them about trusting and obeying God.

We are loving every moment of the experience!
Wish we could share it all with you.

This video is a sample of the many "Construction Zone" illustrations we are using to share God's love with the children of Costa Rica.

CR 2011 - Day 2

Today we spent the day at a Latin America Child Care (LACC) School. We did two programs for their students about sharing God's love with others. Here's a quick glimpse of what our day with them looked like.
